On your initial visit, Dr. Reier will take a detailed history and perform an examination for the purpose of establishing a diagnosis. Diagnostic imaging (X-Rays, MRI) may be ordered if a patient’s history and exam findings dictate necessity. If it is determined that you are a candidate for chiropractic care, then treatment strategies will be discussed. If needed, Dr. Reier will help coordinate care with your medical doctor or other specialists to see that you receive the most complete care possible.

Alleviating pain and discomfort is the first step in process. The use of manipulation and manual therapy treatment techniques have been shown to be among the most effective for the relief of joint pain.   Treatment may also include physical therapy modalities, such as electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, traction, exercise, heat and ice. This combined approach assists in decreasing nerve irritation, muscle spasm, and helps to restore joint function in moving towards complete healing.

The ultimate goal is for you to resume a healthy, active lifestyle, whether that is as a busy working mom or a weekend athlete. Dr. Reier’s objective is to help you develop a better understanding of your body and to improve your overall wellness.

Once we have relieved your pain, our next step is to help you get back to your regular activities of daily living. We will work closely with you to formulate a comprehensive, individualized plan that will not only manage your condition but also prevent future problems. This plan may include exercises, nutritional advice, and lifestyle modifications.
